Product Overview

To make Drop Liner backpacks, I compile scrap fabric from drysuit factories and find other high-performance fabrics that would otherwise be discarded. I combine them with the best zippers, trim, and buckles around to make unique, streamlined backpacks. All 100% assembled here in the shop in Portland Oregon.

Choose from a selection of recycled sailcloth, scrap drysuit Nylon, eco-friendly Northpak® Polyester, and a range of high performance materials like Dyneema®, Kevlar®, Cuben® Fiber.

Keep your items dry in the seam sealed liner made from drysuit factory scrap Gore-Tex® - it’s from a few seasons ago, so they’ll never use it. Get more detail on the options on the materials page.

Available upgrades include:

Laptop compartment: Side access laptop zip with YKK® Uretek water resistant zipper, accomodating up to a 17" laptop for Mediums and Larges. OR interior laptop drop pocket, accomodating up to a 15" laptop for Mediums and Larges. Please contact me if you have questions or concerns about fitting a specific laptop into a specific bag size.

Hip Belt: Upgrade to a padded hip belt with two Uretek® zipper pockets, or add a standard webbing hip belt.

Side Pocket(s): Choose to add one or two side pockets to your pack, allowing you to carry easily accessible water bottles, thermoses, etc. The ’same fabric' design incorporates a slide lock and nylon webbing along the top edge instead of elastic webbing. The flush side pockets are made from Challenge Sailcloth Ultrastretch® material in black, the most difficult to cut fabric I have ever dealt with in my life - and it’s stretchy!

Main Buckle: Upgrade from the standard plastic Duraflex® buckle to a Fidlock® magnetic buckle or a COBRA closure. (personally, I recommend the Fidlock®, it’s pretty sweet.)

As a tiny company, I rely on bags with logos being seen 'in the wild' to get exposure - as a designer, I totally understand the appeal of having a bag with no logo. I hope a middle ground of paying an extra premium for the 'no logo' option makes sense, but please let me know your thoughts!

Securely closed with an upgradeable 1½" buckle, our waterproof* backpack is available in three different sizes and custom coloring options.

  • Small: 15 Liter capacity (1037 Cubic Inches)
    10" wide x 5" deep x 17" tall (25.4cmx12.7cmx43cm)

  • Medium: 24 Liter capacity (1464 Cubic Inches)
    11.5" wide x 9" deep x 21" tall (29cmx23cmx54cm)

  • Large: 35 Liter capacity (2130 Cubic Inches)
    13" wide x 10.25" deep x 23" tall (33cmx26cmx59cm)

PLEASE NOTE: Each pack is different.  There will be slight changes in the fabrics my partner factories use, so naturally my stock changes accordingly.  Please let me know in the comments box during checkout if you have any special requests / color requests - thank you!

* Not submersible

    My second Drop Liner backpack...

Posted by Jason Janke on Aug 14th 2021

My son loved my first Drop Liner so much that he acquired it. This second 35L (large) pack was constructed out of NorthPak material and is perfect for me. It is more traditional-looking with a matte black color and a subtle diamond/square pattern throughout. I love the Fidlock buckle. I'm not sure how often I will use the padded hip belt, but it's nice to know it is there when I need it. The hip belt integrates into the pack seamlessly and you would probably never suspect that it is easily removable. We love our packs and our three Dopp Kits. Thanks Luke for awesome products and great customer service throughout the process!

    Best overall pack...

Posted by Daniel Joseph Oconnor on Jun 2nd 2021

I mostly like the pack but there are a couple features that bother me. 1. After I already received the pack I read that kevlar is very susceptible to sunlight degradation. Maybe you have more info on this particular type. 2. The only other issue is the shoulder straps. They seem a little flimsy and the internal foam does not extend all the way to where it is attached to the top of the pack. So this empty 2 or 3 inch section of the straps allow them to be more prone to twisting backwards. One moe complaint is your website does not show an image of the optional shoulder straps or clear depictions of the kevlar and other items. Your website needs work. Otherwise, the stitching, workmanship and overall design. for instance, a good main buckle instead of zipper shows you really understand backpack design and have exceptional talent and ability.

    Perfect EDC...

Posted by Kaz Kimura on Apr 22nd 2021

I was looking for a EDC Bag for over a year, then I saw a YouTube regarding to Truce Backpack, and caught my eyes! I went to their web-site and found out that I can do many options. I e-mailed Luke about my requirements for backpack, and he said he could do it. So I decided to order 15L backpack. He made my bag next day, and shopped out right away. After received it, I found that 15L EDC bag is the best fit for me, and not so small and big. He also added some graphic on my bag which makes people notice this bag well. I am so glad to see YouTube about this company. I will next order a duffle bag! If you want to have a special backpack which is different from ordinary backpack, you should check their web-site, and ask Luke for any special idea! He is genius!

An outstanding pack from outstanding materials...

Posted by Jason Janke on Apr 3rd 2021

I received my Drop Liner pack and it is a thing of beauty. From the quality materials to the superior craftsmanship, the pack was everything that I hoped it would be. I chose a Dyneema material in the large size and am very pleased with the functionality of the backpack. Luke was very helpful when I had a question before my purchase. My teenage son is very jealous of my new gear.

    Fantastic

Posted by Mitchell on Dec 24th 2020

I had been eyeing the drop liner for a while now, but finally decided to pull the trigger. After many back and forth emails with Luke I finalized my pack. I ended up with the Woven/Non-Woven Dyneema for the entire exterior of the bag. The W/NWD was something I was very excited about because it's extremely hard to find, but it is extremely lightweight while being one of the most tear resistant and abrasion resistant fabrics available. This pack should last me years and years. I am an ultralight backpacker and was worried about the large bag capacity being a bit small so I opted for two side pockets. They are extremely large (about 3.5L each)! They have a unique cinch system with a strap instead of elastic for increased durability. I also asked Luke to have the front pocket pop out instead of being internal so it does not interfere with the internal capacity of the pack. There are also a few internal pockets for organization and one large pocket in the lid as well. In addition, the top of the liner can extend about 3 inches which allows you to increase the height to about 26 inches. Overall, I am extremely happy and look forward to years and miles with this pack.

    Extremely Durable, Exceptional Quality, with...

Posted by Mack Sealand on Nov 9th 2020

I was fortunate to receive my Drop Liner in W/NW Dyneema just before going into the Smokey Mountains of Tennessee and North Carolina for 5 days of intense hiking inspecting Power Transmission towers in some very remote sections of the region. Due to the nature of my work, these day trips require me to tote a laptop, radio, logbooks, an IFAK , binoculars, some assorted basic tools in a zippered pouch, and inclement weather gear for the sometimes volatile weather, all of which easily fit in the bag, along with 2 large(1 liter) water bottles in the side pockets. The optional Molle strips on the bag allowed me an ideal place to attach my radio. Toss in some Clif Bars, and I'm off. The bag was a work horse. Despite traveling though thick undergrowth, a thorny thicket or two, and scraping on some bare granite, there is absolutely no signs of wear. The Bloom shoulder straps were very comfortable, even at the end of a 10-12 hour day. The Fidlock buckle is fantastic! It never once came loose despite being grabbed at by limbs on multiple occasions. Got caught by a heavy rain shower on day 2 and day 5, and all my gear stored in the interior of the pack was bone dry when necessity dictated I dig into the bag, and the liner design allowed me to leave my rain gear isolated from the rest of the packs contents to dry. Overall, everything about the pack is wonderful, functional, and well constructed. It'll serve as a weekend bag, beach bag, or suitable for everyday carry or dayhiking. The environmentally friendly construction(upcycled or remnant material/the Bloom pads) was a big selling point for me. The zippers are sturdy, pocket placement is well thought out, and my pack is able to stand on its own, empty or laden. The compression straps kind of run all over, and may need to be replaced eventually, but the pack itself is as hardy as an anvil. After one hard usage, I suspect this pack will be passed down to another generation in nearly the same condition as the day I unboxed it. The process, including multiple back and forth questions with Luke, is the single best customer service I've ever received. This bag earned a full 5 starts early. If anything changes, I'll update my review, as the Drop Liner is now my go to EDC bag.

    AMAZEBALLS

Posted by Bailey on Oct 12th 2020

I have purchased two bags from Luke. I wish everything I owned was made with the care, love and craftsmanship that these bags are made with because WOW. The detail. The quality. There is nothing as high end as these bags. Luke uses all the best materials for his bags. He is honest about his product and his work. The two bags I have from him are by far my favorites. If you are considering buying a backpack-do it. There is no way you will be disappointed.
